Welcome To Primary Recruitment

A Message from our Director of Recruitment,

Ryleigh Thurston

Hi everyone! My name is Ryleigh Thurston, and I’m so honored to serve as the Director of Recruitment for Panhellenic. I am so excited to welcome you into this community and help guide you through recruitment!

Deciding to go through Fall 2023 recruitment was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Recruitment is such a unique experience, where you’re surrounded by so many women from different backgrounds, all coming together in one place. It really shows how powerful it is when women support each other and create such a strong sense of community. There is something so special about being part of a group that truly wants to see you succeed and feel at home. Recruitment can feel like a lot at times, but it’s also such an exciting and meaningful experience. Give yourself grace, trust the process, and remember that you are exactly where you’re meant to be. I encourage you to keep an open mind and soak in every moment. The days can feel long, but the experience goes by so quickly. Take pictures, talk to the people around you, and let yourself be present, because these are moments you’ll look back on and cherish.

Most importantly, be yourself. You don’t need to change anything about who you are to find where you belong. The right people will see you, appreciate you, and make you feel at home in a way you didn’t even know you needed. There is a place for everyone here, and I can’t wait for you to find yours.

Panhellenic Recruitment is an exciting opportunity for women interested in joining a sorority to learn about the meaning and benefits of sorority life. Recruitment is divided into four days--Get Involved, Make a Difference, Live N' Learn, Preference, and Bid Night. It is a mutual selection process between potential new members and the 11 NPC sororities at NC State. The sororities participating in Formal Recruitment are Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, Sigma Kappa, and Zeta Tau Alpha.  The Panhellenic Association aims to help each woman find her place in our community of leadership, sisterhood, service, and scholarship.

Alpha Omega Epsilon is an Associate Member of Panhellenic Association and does not participate in Panhellenic Formal Recruitment. Alpha Omega Epsilon is a professional sorority for women with an interest (no major required) in engineering and technical sciences.  More information on their recruitment process can be found here.

Phi Sigma Rho is an Associate Member of the Panhellenic Association and does not participate in Panhellenic Formal Recruitment. Phi Sigma Rho is a social sorority for women and non-binary students in STEM majors. More information on their recruitment process can be found here.
