For over a century, Alpha Xi Delta has been empowering women to realize their potential and make a lasting impact on their communities. Founded in 1893 at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois, our sorority has grown into a national organization with a deep-rooted history of sisterhood, service, and leadership. At NC State, our chapter continues this legacy by fostering a supportive environment where each member is encouraged to achieve personal and academic success. Our rich history serves as a foundation for the vibrant community we have built, one that values tradition while embracing the future.

At the heart of Alpha Xi Delta is our sisterhood—a bond that transcends the college experience and extends into lifelong friendships. We are a close-knit group that thrives on mutual support, shared experiences, and the joy of coming together for various sisterhood events. Whether we’re organizing movie nights at our home in Greek Village, weekend retreats, or study sessions, our events are designed to strengthen our bonds and create lasting memories. These gatherings are more than just social activities; they are opportunities for personal growth, collaboration, and the celebration of our unique sisterhood. Here, every member finds her place, and together, we create an environment where everyone feels valued and uplifted.

Our commitment to service is reflected in our dedication to the Kindly Hearts Initiative, a national philanthropy focused on providing support to children in need. Over 400,000 children are currently placed in foster care and every year an estimated 4.2 million youth experience homelessness. Locally, we partner year-round with Children’s Home Society of Raleigh, working together to make a tangible difference in our community. From organizing fundraising events to volunteering our time and resources, we are hands-on in our approach to philanthropy. Our efforts go beyond just raising money; we actively engage with the people and organizations we support, building meaningful relationships and creating lasting change. Through the Kindly Hearts Initiative, we not only contribute to a cause we deeply believe in, but we also grow as individuals and as a chapter.

Leadership is an integral part of the Alpha Xi Delta experience, and we are committed to offering every member the chance to develop her leadership skills. Our chapter provides numerous opportunities for involvement, whether through executive positions, committee roles, or special projects. These experiences empower our members to step outside their comfort zones, take on challenges, and grow as leaders. The skills and confidence gained through these roles are invaluable, preparing our sisters for success both during their time at NC State and beyond. We believe that by supporting one another in these endeavors, we create a stronger, more resilient community that is capable of achieving great things.

Being a part of Alpha Xi Delta is about more than just joining a sorority—it’s about becoming part of something bigger than yourself. It’s about finding a place where you can grow, contribute, and make lasting connections. Our chapter at NC State is a place where every member is encouraged to be her true self, to embrace her strengths, and to work together with her sisters to create a positive and lasting impact. Whether through our shared history, our vibrant sisterhood, our philanthropic efforts, or our leadership opportunities, Alpha Xi Delta offers a truly enriching college experience that extends far beyond graduation.
